As part of the ongoing mission of the Playhouse-in-the-Park to bring the arts to children throughout the Southeast, Musical Theatre Works, a travelling performance company, has been established.  Professional actors bring original musical works to area schools, complete with the beautiful sets and elaborate costumes that Playhouse audiences are accustomed to.  An original production of the classic children's tale The Emperor's New Clothes was the inaugural endeavor of the group, whose repertoire also includes an adaptation of the chilling short literature of Edgar Allen Poe.  A Musical Theatre Works production is an education delight for students, performed in the convenience of school facilities.
