jordor.jpg At the heart of the Playhouse-in-the-Park are four mainstage shows.  Elaborate scenery, state-of-the-art digital lighting and sound and an experienced professional  staff have earned the Playhouse its reputation as the foremost theatre of its kind in the Southeast.

The Playhouse in the Park proudly holds a unique position in the state and, in fact, the nation, as one of only a dozen or so community theaters operating year round with a program devoted exclusively to youth productions.

Fiddler on the RoofOur productions are enhanced by a dedicated professional staff. It has been our honor to collaborate with published novelist Thomas Lakeman to create original musical and dramatic productions, which are premiered exclusively at the Playhouse in the Park by our young actors.

Working with Lakeman's original scripts, the Playhouse staff of Director Danny Mollise and Musical Director Scott Jolly craft fully orchestrated songs, bringing with them decades of theatrical experience. Scenic Director Pamela Mollise brings these tales to life with the elaborate sets, sumptuous costumes, and professional production values that Mobilians have come to expect from every Playhouse production.

The growing repertoire of original productions includes Nightmares, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Cinderella, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, with more exciting projects in the works.

The Playhouse-in-the-Park also houses a travelling performance company, Musical Theatre Works and a puppetry troupe, Playhouse Puppets.
