The Playhouse-in-the-Park offers training programs where students between the ages of 6 and the early 20s can learn the art and craft of theater.
Current classes begin January 9, 2012.
STAGE & STUDIO
For ages 6 - 14
No audition required
The Playhouse -in-the-Park is pleased to announce an all-new acting training program for youth between the ages of 6 and 14! NO AUDITION REQUIRED!
STAGE & STUDIO is designed to enhance the opportunities for our younger participants. Students will receive an acting class each week, plus one rehearsal day, culminating in a professional quality show at the end of the ten week quarter.
The weekly classes will be taught by the Playhouse staff throughout the quarter. Danny Mollise, Managing Director of the theatre, will oversee and direct the children's performance. Each class will be limited to 18 students and every class member will receive a speaking role in the production. Fees include scripts, books, all teachers’ fees, production costs as well as a cast party at the end of the production run!
This unique and exciting program is held in three 10-week terms (September-December, January-March, and March-May). Space is limited! Cost for each quarter is $250.00.
Schedule: (10 weeks)
Mondays - 5:00 - 6:00 pm - acting class for 6 to 10 year olds (Stage and Studio I)
Tuesdays - 5:00 - 6:00 pm - Play rehearsal for both groups.
Thursdays - 5:00 - 6:00 pm - acting class for 11 to 14 year olds. (Stage and Studio II)

CONSERVATORY ACTING PROGRAM
For advanced actors aged 14 and up.
By audition only
Meets 4:30-6:00 Wednesdays and Fridays
Senior Company is for serious, devoted students interested in learning the art and techniques of acting, and auditions are required for placement in these classes. Those auditioning should expect to be interviewed and be ready to deliver a short prepared monologue. Classes are offered in three 10-week terms (September-December, January-March, and March-May).
